The After Party

When we said that we partied like animals, we weren't kidding! We spent the night celebrating with entire cast of CCSI as we were ALL awarded with Acatemy Awards from Skeezix! We sipped Nipatinis and gorged ourselves on fine caviar while enjoying our moment in the sun with our friends. It was a wonderful night at the after party, which stretched far on into the early morning hours.

The paparazzi caught the big wigs of Little Productions huddled in a corner engulfed in a deep conversation. Could CCSI be getting ready for their third episode? Stay tuned.

And the Winner is.......

Opus and Roscoe for CCSI!

We had no idea what was in store for us when we attended the Oscars on Sunday night. We thought we were going to watch the awards show, when we found ourselves to be winners! The wonderful and talented Skeezix presented us EACH with Acatemy awards for our work on the CCSI series.

Words can not express how Skeetzix's award touched our hearts.

(accepting our award from Skeezix)

Opus's speech:
I am extremely humbled by this great honor. Working for CCSI has been a lot of hard work, but it is work that do with love, passion and incredible enthusiasm.

First I must thank Skeezix for this wonderful award. This thoughtful cat was kind enough to hand out awards to his feline and canine buddies when we were all snubbed by the humans this year. You are a sweet kitty and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I will place this award on my blog with great pride.

To my fellow producers, Ruis and Karl, you are a beautiful couple, not only professionally but personally. I am proud to call you both my colleagues and my friends. I have learned so much from you both and look forward to working with you again.

To our executive producer Sassy, it was you who came up with the idea of an animal created series. With you, there would be no CCSI. Thank you for your dedication, hard work, and friendship. Working with you each day makes work feel more like fun.

As a producer, writer and actor on the show, I know first hand the rigors that come with each of these demanding jobs. They are all important. To every animal who is associated with CCSI in any way, I applaud your commitment and contributions. We wouldn't have a show with you.

To my humans, I thank you dearly for loving me and treating me like your child rather than your pet. I have enjoyed the many years we have spent together, curled up on your warm, loving lap. You have given me all that an old cat can wish for.

And finally, to the yin of my yang, to the peas of my carrots, to the black of my white, Roscoe. You are no only my brother, but my also my best friend. Who would have known that two little farm cats from Indiana could go far together in life. You know that where ever you go, what ever you do, I will be right there at your side. From Indiana, to Italy to Hollywood, there is no "we" without thee. I love you dear brother. Thank you all!

Roscoe's speech:

They like us! They really, really like us! GRAZIE! THANK YOU! THANK YOU SO MUCH SKEEZIX! I LOVE YOU TOO OPUS!

After the ceremony, we spent the night celebrating!
And we partied like animals!

Happy President's Day

Before any of you ask.... no, President's Day is NOT celebrated in Italy. Heck, we don't even have a Prime Minster at this point! The job is wide open right now and we are hoping to puuursuade Chey into filling the role.

However, since you can take the cat out of America but you can't take America out of the cat, Roscoe and I are celebrating President's Day.

Did you know that we happen to the decendants of some pretty important historical cats?

Our great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, Grandcat who was the favorite cat of Abraham Lincoln.

Our great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great Grandcat who was the favorite cat of George Washington.

And even our dear friend, Sassy, had a famous great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, Grandcat who acutaly MADE the very first American flag. Although her owner, Besty Ross, took all the credit!

Opus, Roscoe, Momo and Sassy's famous ansectors ingraved forever on Mt.Catmore.

Wishing you all a very Happy President's Day!

We had so much fun hanging out with all of our friends on Saint Valentine's day. A big thank you to Momo who hosted the party. Also, a big thanks to our friend Asta, who gave Roscoe motion sickness kisses when we got sick on the boat.

It was a fun night of eating, dancing, laughing and celebrating love.

Be sure to stop by Momo's to see all the other photos of the guests and the party.

Buon San Valentino!

( Opus and Roscoe portatits photo by Sassy)
OPUS: mature, single male cat seeks female kitty for friendship with the possibility of more. Likes long walks on the beach, opera, fine wine, good literature, and renaissance art. Must be able to put up my crazy brother who is attached to my hip.

ROSCOE: Fun loving, free spirit, older-but-not-mature cat, seeks fun loving, free spirit, old or young but-not-mature kitty for friendship and maybe something more. Likes laying (but not walking) on the beach, roller costers, rootbeer floats, comic books, and movies. Must be able to put up with my uptight brother who is attached to my hip.

Our wonderful friend, Sassy, sent us a few Valentine's day photos! Isn't she the sweetest kitty! Opus and I don't have girlfriends because our human says we are too young to date. Doesn't she know that 12 in cat years makes us OLDER than her????? Oh well, we don't mind.

Even though we aren't allowed to date, Sassy has agreed to be our Valentine this year! Now before you all start spreading rumors throughout the kitty blog world, let us clear up one thing; we love Sassy very much but like a little sister rather than a girlfriend.

Today our friend, Momo the cat, is hosting a Valentine's Day cruise in Australia. Be sure to stop by her blog and check it out. Sassy invited us to go with her. She came to pick us up in Italy this morning. We had a wonderful breakfast together in Pisa. Then we took a walk around the Field of Miracles and showed her just how much the leaning tower of Pisa is leaning.

Now we are heading on over to Momo's place. We plan to spend the rest of the day on The Love Boat with all of our good friends.

Welcome aboard!

So happy Valentine's Day to our very own Valentine, Sassy,
and also to all our friends who we love so dearly!

Happy Valentine's Day!

A Tour of Venice

In between all of the festivities at the Venice carnival, Roscoe and I took our visiting friends on a tour of the sinking city. You should have seen the looks we got from the curious tourists!

Here we are in front of the church of Saint Mark's.

Just around the corner from the church is "The Bridge of Sighs". This bridge connects the prison to the Doge's Palace, where prisoners were tried for their crimes. According to legend, after being found guilty the prisoners would cross the bridge to return to their cells and sigh while taking one last look at the Venetian lagoon before being locked away in the damp prison.

Our last stop was at the famous Rialto bridge.

This bridge is packed with all kinds of shops,
from jewelery stores to tourist junk.

We didn't have time to shop, after snapping one last group photo
it was off the carnival!

Carnevale di Venezia

As many of you already know, Opus and I went to the carnival in Venice just before the start of lent. It was wild, fun, crazy, exciting, and beautiful! Lucky for us, a whole bunch of our friends were able to join us in the celebration. Our good friends Sassy, Momo (the cat),Percy, Ruis, Karl, Mrs. Oz, Emil, Asta, Charley, Momo (dog), and her little brother, Pinot. Momo, the cat, also brought along a few new friends for us to meet. It was wonderful to get to know Charlotte, Scylla, Charybdis and Socks while spending the day with them at the carnival. Be sure to check out our friends's blogs as they have posted photos of our adventures as well.

Little by little, we all arrived via the gondola. Lucky for us Momo was working as a gondoler that day or it might have cost us all a fortune to ride in the expensive gondola! It pays to have friends in high places!

Momo's cousin, Charlotte, was there to greet us
as we arrived by gondola.

Everyone was dressed to the nines in the most incredible outfits I had ever seen! It was like we had stepped into a fairy tail (hehehehe) with Venice as its backdrop! Here are some photos of all of us dressed up in our fabulous costumes!

The party was fun, but it was a bit chilly this time of year. After spending all day outside enjoying the festivities, we got a little cold. To help warm us up, Asta treated all of us to hot chocolate at the famed Florian cafe.

Once warmed up, we all went back to our hotel to change. We had all been invited to a special costume ball that was held in a private palace!

Waiting outside the hotel for everyone before the costume ball.

The morning sun was already shining when we said our goodbyes, jumped into a gondola, and headed back to our hotel for a nice, long, catnap.

Arrivederci Carnevale di Venezia!
Ci vediamo la prossima volta!

(Good bye Venice carnival! See you next time!)
